Illustrated Anatomy Online

Anatomy refers to the human body and its composition. A human body is made of muscles, bones, tissues, organs and organ systems. But to make this study interesting it is important that the anatomy be illustrated. This also makes understanding the complex functions easier.

There are various disciplinary studies of human anatomy for diffent systems in the body:

Skeletal system: Skeletal system consists of the bones. This system acts as the support of the body. It includes basically the skull, teeth, capsular ligaments, sternum, collateral ligaments, patella and the navicular bone.

Digestive system: This is made of mouth, throat, stomach, gall bladder, appendix, guts, spleen, liver, omentum, intestines (small and large) and rectum.

Muscular system: The system is made of muscles, muscle cells, arm and leg muscles, diaphragm, elbows, knees, hips, wrists, forearms, push and pull muscles and shoulders.

Lymphatic system: Lymphatic system is made of lymph (a fluid), lymph nodes, thoracic duct, intestinal duct and inguinal nodes.

Endocrine system: Endocrine system consists of pituitary gland, suprarenal (adrenal) gland, pancreas gland, thyroid and parathyroid glands.

Nervous system: It has facial nerves, nerve cells, nasal passage, tongue, ears, skin, brain and eyes.

Cardiovascular system: This is has the heart, coronaries, arteries, veins, capillaries, lungs and bronchial alveolus.

Reproductive system: The male reproductive organs are penis and testicles. The female reproductive organs are breasts, uterus, ovaries and the vagina.

Urinary system: the urinary system includes kidneys, renal medulla, ureter, urinary bladder, medial umbilical ligament and urethra.
